Throughout his teaching career, Jamie has also participated in many performance and recording projects both as band leader of The Rift, a guest, and a solo artist. During the school year 2016 - 2017 he was a Show Director for the School of Rock - Mamaroneck. Most recently he designed, produced, and taught residencies, culminating concerts, and family workshops for LEAP NYC as a Teaching Artist. From a family of musicians, I started playing the cello at the age of 5. After being a cellist for the Conservatory of Quebec Orchestra in Saguenay, I switched to percussion. I recorded the Flight of the Bumble Bee for the first time at age 14 and became a symphonic percussionist later with the National Art Center Orchestra of Canada as well as for the Ottawa Symphony while playing for the Starlighters and Savoy Swing Band at the Penguin cafe in Ottawa.
