Overview:
I am energetic, experienced and creative music teacher with a proven ability to get the very best out of pupils. I am an expert at identifying the appropriate resources required for a subject matter and then ensuring that they are used efficiently, effectively and safely, always keen on building a strong relationship with my students. Most of my students read and play simple music after 3-4 classes of active instruction. I posses extensive classical music and music pedagogy trainings. All my musical knowledge and expertise was attained in Eastern Europe. I play and teach piano, upright bass, bass guitar and a range of other instruments. Over the years I taught basic piano, the beginner violin, viola, cello and a variety of school instruments such as recorder and xylophone. I also teach advanced music theory, harmony and basics of composition and orchestral arranging required for music colleges. I especially find it rewarding working with beginners and the opportunity to show them the amazing world of listening, playing and making music
EXPERIENCE
I have been teaching regularly since my college days. I started as a piano teacher, but quickly expanded into stringed instrument. Right now I teach at home, in my own studio, my student's homes, and in couple local schools as a music director and teacher. I prepare y students not only how to play, but also how to become self starting artists able to read and play. I organize yearly recitals where all of my students can show their skills. I encourage my students to play variety of pieces, including classical, pop and whatever genres they are into at the moment.
METHODS USED
The teaching begins with identifying student's musical needs, goals and tastes. Students are taught a stimulating, thorough, and graduated course of recital solos, theory, technical studies, and a strandard instrument repertoire. For those wishing to pursue more of a classical approach to music, there are proven methods to accomplish that goal established by European Master Teacher and pedagogues. Also, I can teach the know-how of Jazz and Blues though gradual lessons that cover basic scales and chords up to melody and harmony development.
LESSON STYLE
The learning process should be, for the most part, fun and based upon a strong relationship between the teacher and the student. Curriculum and lesson plans are based on student's abilities and aspirations with appropriate balance between theoretical and practical work. The lesson material is always carefully chosen, and when necessary, adapted to specific learning needs. With a proper approach, everyone can learn to play music. Whether you want to pursue a music career, or just play for fun and enjoyment I can help you attain your goals. From basic piano and stringed instruments, to advanced theory, harmony, composition and improvisation to jazz, pop and rock. Classes are not based on a single source or book. I provide other exercises in printed form for students to keep and take home.

Peter is an excellent teacher. I was struggling with some concepts on bass guitar until Peter steered me in the right direction with selected pieces and some music theory so I could better understand why certain things must be done certain way. Very professional, flexible and patient teacher. Highly recommended.

Learning the cello tricks with Peter was a real treat. I now finally understand how shifting into different position works and how to maintain a proper intonation. Peter was very patient and supportive with lots of useful material and tips. I would definitely recommend Peter to anyone who is serious about learning.

Peter has been teaching my 3 children violin and piano for the past 6 years. He is excellent! Every lesson is individualized to meet each of my children’s needs. He is very patient with all of them. His teaching techniques have helped them in troublesome areas, as well as in learning new skills. He is a phenomenal musician and teacher!

I'm not sure I can write words that fully describe my satisfaction with Peter as a music instructor. My daughter has been taking cello lessons from him for nearly 2 years. He's kind, patient, and engaging. My daughter looks forward to every lesson. Peter suggests music pieces that she can learn and master, but he knows when it's time to challenge her and take her out of her musical comfort zone so she can grow. He normally comes right to the house but during the pandemic, they have been using Facetime and haven't missed a beat. I highly recommend that anyone interested in Peter as a music instructor should definitely move forward with him.
