I've learned through experience that being too strict can contribute to a student loosing interest in practicing, so my teaching style is in the sweet spot. I push my students to always improve but I still remain patient and adaptable to different student situations. This might include assigning listening to recordings, practicing tricky passages, or working on a new technique that I might have showed them. I do this because it allows the student to take to fundamentals and gives them the tools to get creative with the knowledge that they already have.
