In 2015, I graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Music degree in Violin Performance. In 2018, I graduated from Louisiana State University with Master of Music in Violin Performance. I recently moved to New York City to get some opportunity as a teacher and performer in big city. In 2016, I earned my B.A in Music at Duke University, then went on to complete my M.M. in Jazz Studies in 2020 with focus in Vocal Jazz Performance at North Carolina Central University. For beginning students who are children I typically start with a book. We can pair that with playing different musical games and improvisation. For beginning adults I like to pick some simple songs that resonate and work towards learning them. I believe strongly in the diversity of the student. I realize that not everyone likes books. I grew up in a musical family and began classical music training at the age of 6. I studied clarinet and classical percussion and later on focussed on drums, improvised music, theory and composition. I graduated from the Conservatory in Amsterdam with a Master in Performance and Composition. I performed all over the world (America, Asia, Africa, Europe) I love sharing my knowledge with students of all levels and ages. My style is relaxed, confident and detailed. I am passionate about the music and love to see my students enjoying the art of expressing themselves and communicating through song. I begin each lesson with yoga, strand deep breathing. I believe that the body should be as free from stress as possible and that my student’s breathing should be as natural and organic as possible.
