My teaching style is very thorough and patient. I welcome mistakes! Please make mistakes! It is not about how often you fall down, but about how you get up again. In a lesson we will spend half the amount of time working on technical building exercises and half the time working on repertoire. Read More
Instruments: Piano Trumpet Saxophone Flute Clarinet Bass Guitar Recorder Double Bass Music
I began teaching in 2012 when I was awarded the Graduate Assistant position at Western Michigan University. As a G.A., I was responsible for teaching non-music majors saxophone lessons, theory and ear-training, as well as coaching ensembles. I also taught flute and clarinet at Paramount Charter Academy in Kalamazoo, Michigan to middle school students. It was a very rewarding experience to teach people of various ages, ability levels, and goals, and allowed me to refine my teaching methods based on the needs of each student. I currently teach music theory, piano, saxophone, clarinet, flute, drums, and composition at Belle Arti Center for the Performing Arts in Queens, NY. Read More

Like I said, every lesson is specific to the student. I don't use a "method" on all my students. I can teach classical music and technicality, to jazz songs and improvisation, to songwriting and pop/folk oriented style of playing. I try to give accurate and appropriate material to students depending on their needs and interests. Read More

Students will learn the fundamentals of music theory and history while focusing on improving their technical facility on the cello. Students also work towards building their comfort with the instrument by practicing increasingly complex exercises and repertoire. Each lesson students practice ear-training and sight-reading so they are prepared for auditions and can learn music more quickly. Read More
