For my voice students, I find it most important to pick literature that will be healthy for students to sing, as well as enrich their vocal development. I acknowledge the accomplishments caused by the strengths while I focus on developing the weaknesses. Nikolaev (American edition),which means starting to read simultaneously treble and bass clefs, scales, etudes by Cherni, "Childrens Albums" by Schumann, Tchaikovsky, Inventions by J.S.Bach etc. It is the solid academical approach.
