I've been running my own private teaching studio of cello, piano and violin students since graduating with my Masters degree in cello performance from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music in 2005. I like to be flexible and change up my method depending on each student's needs and goals. Most of the time, I start beginners off with a book such as A Tune A Day, Suzuki Violin School, String Builder, or the Hal Leonard. I also provide other handouts with exercises and additional material. There is nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! Therefore, it's important that each student goes at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson, and giving them an outline of what will happen for the next few lessons. I have acquired over 15 years experience in teaching all different genres of music through piano, violin, and viola to students of all ages, as well as many years of experience in preparing students for NYSSMA in all levels.
