I’m a passionate and motivated instructor who loves working with students and sharing my love of music. In 2003,I graduated from Tchaikovsky Music School, where I studied violin pedagogy and performance. In 2008, I graduated from the Komitas State Conservatory of Armenia with honors (with Masters degree in Violin Performance. Performing all over the world has been one of the greater experiences of my life as a musician, and I’ve had opportunity to play at many well known concert venues of The USA,include Carnegie Hall, David H.Coch Theater, The Kennedy Center Opera House,Microsoft Theater ,as well touring the world with hundreds of concerts as the concertmaster,associate concertmaster of ShenYun Performing Arts And much bigger ShenYun Symphony .from 2011 to 2013 I worked as member of Armenian National Philharmonic Orchestra,and participated in all international festivals and concerts of the orchestra, during that time period I had opportunity to work under the batton of many Great conductors including Christopher Warengreen, Eduardo Topchjian, Karen Durgarian, And had opportunity to work with soloists such as Pinchas Zukerman, Daishin Kashimoto, Maxim Vengerov,Isabelle Faust, Michell Legrand And others in 2012 I participated at I,Culture Festival and toured around Europe ,and that gave me chance to collaborate with such great musicians and teachers as Marshal Marcus, Claire Thompson, in 2005- I was one of the founder members of State Youth Orchestra of Armenia and toured with the orchestra around Europe,in 2007 the orchestra became a member of European Union of Youth orchestras as well the official orchestra of world known Aram Khachaturian competition. My teaching style is all about getting the student to love music! There is nothing else that will be a greater and more honest motivator than loving what they are doing. Singing, games and dancing are great when the little ones get distracted or discouraged. I make sure to let everyone know that music isn't easy; it's hard and takes a lot of hard work and practice. I started teaching in high school, and I've been teaching consistently for the past 5 years. Encouraging regular practice on a consistent schedule is one of the key points I like to emphasize for younger students, as it tends to help the student progress and gain a passion for the instrument. If a student isn't having fun in their lessons, then I'm not doing my job! My students are encouraged to enter competitions and recitals, as well as work on composing their own original material, so they can feel good about their accomplishments and stay motivated to learn. For beginning students who are children, I typically begin by introducing them to the various parts of the instrument, along with the basics of technique and position. New notes and concepts would be introduced through learning familiar songs and pieces. All parents are encouraged to attend their child's violin lessons so that they can aid practice sessions. For adults, I try to find out what the student is most interested in learning, and devise a plan with the student accordingly in order to keep the lessons engaging and fun. Read More

For very beginning students, I usually start with the Suzuki Method Books and All For Strings Comprehensive String Method Books. I usually encourage my students to read music, but for the youngest students I start by playing with them and having them copy me. Once they are ready, I start teaching them basic music theory that will help them read music. For intermediate to advanced players I institute a routine of practicing scales and etudes as well as a solo piece that is appropriate for their ability level. Read More

I instantly found a love for the challenge of teaching, and the joy when a student experiences success. I have taught privately in a myriad of settings: music stores, music studios, and in students' homes. I believe every student needs a comfortable, fun and non-judgmental environment to thrive. My main goal is to help them achieve their goals (passing exams, getting a scholarship, joining an orchestra, performing at school, playing their favorite pop songs at home, etc) and to enjoy the journey. I am easy-going and understanding but I expect all my students to practise from one lesson to the next and I always set clear and realistic goals. Read More
