I also hold a Bachelor of Music Degree with full-ride at the Peabody Institute of Music of the Johns Hopkins University. 17 years of professional training in violin, I'm an accomplished violinist with awards and prizes winning from major compeititons. For every singer I will assign various vocal exercises to practice each week. We also will work on sight-reading exercises to encourage a high level of musicianship. For Beginning students or kids from 3 years old, I typically start with Hal Leonard's Essential Elements and also some other theory to help them to read the notes on staff. Once Student slightly progressed, I will begin to start shop pieces with another finger technique etude, to building stronger and solid finger and also I would recommend some music repertories to listen to it, just for building music expression. For beginning students who are children, I typically start with a basic book like Fiddle Magic by Sally O'Reilly. Once the student has grasped the fundamentals, I will move on to the Suzuki Books. Along with teaching from the Suzuki Book, I will supplement their learning with an etude book such as Wohlfahrt and Kreutzer. After a certain point, I will start working on pieces and concertos not in the Suzuki books anymore. Read More
