I am a violin and piano instructor with a love for teaching and encouraging a love of music. I received my Bachelors in Violin Performance from Boston University as well as a Masters and Artists Diploma from New York University. I have taught at various organizations including but not limited to NYU and the Noel Pointer Foundation. I take an individualistic approach to teaching with a balance between technique work and musicality. Read More

I believe every student needs a comfortable, fun and non-judgmental environment to thrive. My main goal is to help them achieve their goals (passing exams, getting a scholarship, joining an orchestra, performing at school, playing their favorite pop songs at home, etc) and to enjoy the journey. I am easy-going and understanding but I expect all my students to practise from one lesson to the next and I always set clear and realistic goals. Read More

For very young beginning students, I usually start with Shirley Givens' Adventures in Violinland. After some time, I like to switch to the Suzuki books to encourage training their ears. Each student is very different, and I cater and switch method books based on each student's individual need. For all ages, I encourage them to listen to violinists they enjoy on YouTube, and choose pieces they want to learn. Even if what they choose is a challenge, I believe they will be more inspired to work hard to learn the piece if they chose it. Read More

For beginning students, the first things to learn are how to hold the violin. Setup and posture are the most important steps to avoid developing bad habits and the possibility of getting injured. Upon learning the basics of how to hold the violin and the bow is learning how to read music and sing music. If a student knows the basic setup of the violin/piano and knows how to read music then I would start them on repertoire fitted to their level. Read More

As an educator, my role is to provide a safe and welcoming environment for students to learn and grow. It is important for learning to take place in such an environment so that students are not only free to be themselves, but free to make mistakes. This way, mistakes happen in a safe, forgiving environment where students can learn from them before they have to learn those lessons in the real world. Read More

I have almost thirty years of experience. As a professional musician I perform, compose, and teach. I have extensive chamber and solo international performing experience as well as orchestra performing experience. I have taught young children, special education, adults and have classroom teaching experience as well. The most important principle I have learned is to recognize HOW each student learns. Everyone is talented and capable... my job is to find a way of making the student's talents shine! Read More

I am a committed and caring teacher and performer who is extremely dedicated to my passion for making and sharing music. This past summer, I graduated from the Royal Academy of Music with a first class honors masters degree in violin performance, from where I also received my undergraduate and teaching degrees. I have had the tremendous opportunity to tour and perform all over the world with numerous orchestras and chamber groups since 2010, eventually establishing a base in London in 2014, where I have been teaching violin, piano, music theory and harmony to a wide range of students ever since. Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
