For beginning students who are children. I typically start with Suzuki Violin Book or Hal Leonard's Essential elements. Once the students has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce some repertoire they can perform. For adults, I try to find out what music the students are interested in and as teaching basic skills, I will teach music what they would like to perform. I love to connect and communicate with audiences and/or students through my voice, my jokes, or my instruments. I graduated from Rutgers University in 2012 with a bachelors in Psychology and Theater Arts, and spent much of my time performing on stage in musicals and plays. In addition to maintaining a private studio since 2009, I have taught at the San Francisco Conservatory Pre-College, The Chamber Music Institute, Little Mission Studios, San Francisco's Kipp-Bay Academy, and Inspire Music. I am currently a Teaching Artist for the Midori Friends Foundation and Elizabeth Faidley Studios, and I was previously a Teaching Artist with Oakland Symphony's MUSE program. My students have performed alongside members of the Kronos Quartet, won numerous concerto competitions, regularly participate in All-City and Honors orchestras, and gain entry to music schools and youth orchestras such as the Ruth Asawa San Francisco School of the Arts, Crowden Music Center, and Berkley Youth Orchestra.
