As all of the aspects of technique are being built in the studio, it is my job to ensure that I am building a musician. This means that I go over how the student needs to learn a piece and how to perform a piece. Often times with young students, they do not have the musical skills to teach themselves the pieces assigned. Sometimes the voice teacher’s job is to “plunk out the notes.” I highly encourage my students to take piano lessons and to use technology resources to aid them in building musicianship so they feel confident reading music. I graduated with three degrees in music, namely Bachelor of Music in Music Education, Bachelor of Music in Voice, Bachelor of Music in Conducting. Before that, I was employed by New York Edge (formerly Sports And Arts In Schools Foundation) as a Teaching Artist/Mentor. I was placed in an Alternative High School in Manhattan called City As High School where I worked with students aged 16-21. Specifically, I worked with a program within the school called MAD (Music, Art, and Design) Academy. Hien is a sound designer, composer, and singer living in New York. The Budapest-born musician’s deep attachment to music and sound began at a very young age. She studied Electronic Production & Design at Berklee College of Music as a full scholarship recipient. She designs sounds for UX/UI, motion picture and programs sound for live shows. Her singer-songwriter career has included an impressive number of accolades and experiences in the music industry, including Glamour’s "Woman of the Year” award, co-composing the official theme song of Armel Opera Festival, and playing the leading role of Kim in the musical Miss Saigon.
