I use the basic classical warm ups , fundaments of classical singing , strengthening the diaphragm and voice placement. Building range slowly and carefully while building stamina through exercises and pieces that will help the individual voice grow. For Jazz , I use The Michele Weir Jazz Improvisation as a starting point. I have always had a natural affinity for the musical arts since I could remember; beginning at age 3, I began tinkering with the keyboard, and since then I have expanded my repertoire to encompass over 20 musical instruments with the aid of friends, family, teachers, and the resources they have offered me. While I have not formally pursued a career in performance art, I have nonetheless continued with my musical exploits on the side, on my personal time and, when the opportunity presented itself, with others in performing groups. I have been discovering my love for teaching for the last 5 years. I started within my undergrad school. I graduated from Western Carolina University in May 2015 with a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance (Classical) as well as a minor in Psychology. I was able to perform my first professional show with Asheville Lyric opera as a chorister in La Traviata in 2012.
