ABOUT
Degrees / Training / Special Info:

Bachelor Degree: Queens College (currently in progress)

Overview:

My greatest passion involving music is passing on the vast knowledge I have gained from a real world prospective as a working professional in a field involving the arts. From 2012-2017, I was based out of Nashville traveling the U.S. as part of a country music artist where I gained a unique real world view of music. I also was lucky enough along the way to perform alongside some of the most renowned bands and artists across the music industry. Since then, I have been attending Queens College pursuing a BA in Choral Music Education, which I expect to finish by December 2021.

EXPERIENCE

I am currently a piano and voice instructor at Bronx House Inc. as well as a piano, voice, guitar, and ukulele instructor with Blue Balloon Songwriting school. The start of my teaching career dates back to 2004 when I was a music director and pit conductor for musical theaters at the K-12, Collegiate, Community, and Regional levels in the greater Philadelphia area until 2012. Throughout that time, I had taken on private students of all ages for both piano and/or voice lessons. Some of my teaching highlights include theater productions at institutions such as Princeton University, The Eagle Theater of Hammonton, The Ritz Theater Company, and New Jersey high schools such as Hammonton High School, Lindenwald High School, among others.

METHODS USED

My teaching style is a something I consider to be a hybrid: I combine the academic knowledge I have gained since I started my first piano lesson at four years old, along with the real life experience I obtained as a full-time traveling musician. I take this unique style of teaching and apply it in a very engaging and stimulating learning environment. I like to apply techniques from both the Orff and Kodaly teaching philosophies with younger students. As for adults, I am able to understand the challenge that comes with starting something new which gives me the ability to be patient with them.

I take this unique style of teaching and apply it in a very engaging and stimulating learning environment. I like to use the Kodak Method of Education when approaching the teaching of younger students. Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
