My primary instrument is Clarinet but there are a lot of basic things that could be used universally across all genres and instruments. I always stress the importance of foundation on and off the instrument. In addition to understanding the assembly of the Clarinet, breathe support, and embouchure training, I encourage students to have a basic knowledge of theory as we will begin to learn notes, rhythm, and scales. I began teaching lessons privately in college, and gained significant experience teaching online through the Covid shut down. My favorite aspect of teaching is sharing my love of the saxophone with my students, and passing on knowledge about the instrument that is not widely known or available. I have taught saxophone lessons at several music studios in both California and New York, as well as my own independent students.
