As a pianist, I took classes from IU that broadened my capability as a teacher to teach everything from general, choral, and instrumental music. I had my senior piano solo recital. I have a diverse range of performing experiences as a vocalist, including Opera, International Vocal Ensemble, and show choirs. With voice lessons, I have learned a lot about singing and being able to teach healthy singing. My music career started at the age five. I started small group piano lessons and theory classes. I continued lessons through elementary school and would perform at recitals. In the third grade I joined my school district's orchestra. My instrument of choice was the violin. I played in the orchestra until I graduated from elementary school and started private lessons in high school. My high school did not have an orchestra so I joined the concert band and started playing the flute. Read More

After I graduated from the University of Illinois, I taught private lessons to three elementary and middle school students and flute sectionals to students at a local middle school.
