My teaching experience began in college through a Flute Pedagogy course which I took as part of my degree program. As part of that course, I gave one lesson each to two different students, on beginner, and the other advanced. I have also been section leader at many different times, and in that position I was responsible for guiding and unifying the section and holding others responsible for their parts. Read More

My teaching style is patient, encouraging, and focused on what the student wants to learn, by quickly getting them to play the music they want to they are motivated to practice. It should be enjoyable first and foremost. For those that aspire to be professionals, I make sure the student understands the dedication and discipline necessary to achieve their goals. No two students are alike in terms of the goals they have or the method of teaching that will be the most effective for them. Read More

My teaching methods vary greatly for every student. I'll approach all of my first lessons the same. I asses your playing and discuss your goals. Next we work on a plan to help you achieve your goals. I've keenly aware that everyone has different learning styles and aim to discover every student's style so that I can most effectively teach them. All of our lessons will focus on the fundamentals of good music making - tone, rhythm, time, pitch, musicality, etc. Read More

I am a professional flautist and graduate of Berklee College of Music. Growing up, while I was blessed with a wonderful mentor on flute, I knew a lot of people who never had the chance to take lessons. Seeing students' excitement to learn and watching their progression makes me even more excited to provide the best instruction that I can. Read More
