I am a passionate and motivated instructor who loves working with students and exploring music together. I graduated from Soai University in Osaka in 2016. I had been developing my career as a freelance musician since I graduated and gained various professional musical experience including playing with Osaka Philharmonic and Okayama Philharmonic. In 2021, I came to U.S., and I just earned my Master's Degree in Orchestra Studies at the Chicago College of Performing Arts, where I studied the clarinet under Prof. Read More

In essence, my love of teaching stems from my Mom's love of teaching. She sincerely desired to teach my siblings and myself to pursue our highest dreams. It turned out that I did succeed as a star performer in music, on stages around the world. But also, when I decided to settle down, I added education to my 10-year plan. Cultivating a love of learning, and a love of music, is the most important part of any lesson. One can be the most masterful and technically skilled musician, but if he/she hates to play, we will never hear the beautiful music. I believe that above all else, students really need to develop a love for learning, and the teacher has a unique qualification and responsibility of developing that love. Read More

For drumset students, I usually start out with basic patterns and grooves that they can play to their favorite music. That way they really start to get into it. After we have established a bit of rapport, I will go into technique and see what their tolerance is for more intensive practice and more in depth techniques, all the while trying to keep things light and fun. While technique is important, we would like to make sure the student stays interested in the material and keep their attention with engaging material. Read More

I build each lesson around the needs of each student and what they would like to accomplish. I help them set reasonable practice and achievement goals. If there is a style of music they would like to learn or a particular song, I try to fit it in with the lesson and use it as a teaching tool as well. Proper technique is the foundation for exceptional performance. I spend at least 5-10 minutes each lesson on technique. Read More

I have done a small amount of touring with a small jazz ensemble but I'm not gigging currently, but being versatile , experienced and having formal training help make learning music a pleasure and joyful experience easy, stress free and fun, and, that is especially what beginning and aspiring students need. The beginning concepts of music are easy to learn, I.E. the musical alphabet, how notes climb on each instrument...Hearing the note in your head before you play....then actually play them ...
