I am a hard-working, flexible teacher who loves working with students from beginners just figuring out how to match pitch to advanced students preparing for a professional career. I received my Doctorate of Musical Arts from UT Austin in 2013, and spent 2014-2020 teaching full time voice on the university level at Northeastern State University (OK) and then Valdosta State University (GA). I pride myself in my ability to work with any student to help them discover their voices, give them tools to be better musicians and singers, and most of all, guide them on the path of growing to be better people and members of their community. I started teaching private piano lessons while getting my masters in piano. I have over 25 years of experience and can adapt my teaching style according to the needs of the students. I have worked with students with IEPs in school, retired individuals who just want to enjoy making music, and very young beginners. Sme of my students have continued their musical studies and have been accepted in music colleges. Even if they eventually switch to a different musical instrument, the knowledge and experience gained in piano lessons cannot be measured because all aspects eventually make further learning much easier. I taught privately for the past 25 years, teaching those grade levels and then began teaching senior citizens almost 10 years ago.
