For piano I prefer Faber Piano Adventures and have different books I would recommend starting with depending on the students age and experience. For guitar and ukulele I prefer using the Hal Leonard method books. I often supplement these method books with outside sources and pieces as is appropriate for the student. For singing students, I have a wide variety of books and resources depending on the musical style. I come from a classical voice background, so when students are middle school age and older (sometimes earlier) we begin learning Italian Art songs in addition to musical theater pieces and English folk songs. I started teaching private piano lessons while getting my masters in piano. I have over 25 years of experience and can adapt my teaching style according to the needs of the students. I have worked with students with IEPs in school, retired individuals who just want to enjoy making music, and very young beginners. Sme of my students have continued their musical studies and have been accepted in music colleges.
