Instruments: Trombone
I am a creative, passionate trombonist, composer, arranger, and teacher who enjoys just about any aspect of music. I graduated from Stetson University in 2014 with a Bachelor of Music in Trombone Performance, and was recently accepted to the University of Central Florida's Master of Arts program, focusing on trombone performance and music theory. So far, I have performed on alto, tenor, or bass trombone in Florida All-State orchestras, the 2007 Honor Orchestra of America, and nearly every possible large and small ensemble at Stetson University, as well as with the Youth Brass Band of Central Florida and the Southern Winds. For younger students I start with showcasing what they can achieve with practice and perseverance. I do that by showing my playing. Then we start with the chromatic scale so the fingers can get use to the strings and moving around the fretboard. Same with drums but we start with easy hits and patterns. For adults I would talk about what are their interest and goal in music (genre, style, job, etc) and go from there. Read More
Instruments: Violin Viola Music
For adults, I would still use Essential Elements because it does help with reading music, basic violin technique, bow hold, etc. Suzuki is a must because Suzuki is the best! I learned all of the books, and Suzuki's learning methods helps so much! As time progresses, solo repertoire will be introduced and the student will begin learning from Wohlfahrt etude book. Remember, with anything great it takes time. Practice makes PROGRESS! Read More
Instruments: Piano Trombone Euphonium
My teaching experience began during my first year of college in 2014. While visiting home during the Holidays, I began giving private lessons. Along with my education classes, I completed several practicums as a well as a 12 week student teaching program. Ultimately, my goal is to instill music as an intricate part of all of my students' lives. It is important for students to form an appreciation for music while also creating their own identity in the art. Read More

I have also worked with students with special needs both in school and privately. Now, I live in central Florida with my wife, Jenn, and our rescue doggo, Bailey. Due to the current global health pandemic, I am offering online lessons, with the intention of transitioning back into in-person lessons once it's safe to do so. I'm looking forward to working with you, and feel free to ask me any questions you may have! *** Specialties *** Trumpet - Beginner to Advanced French Horn - Beginner to Intermediate Music Composition - Beginner to Advanced Arranging - Beginner to Advanced Orchestration - Beginner to Advanced Music Theory - Beginner to Advanced Ear Training - Beginner to Advanced Read More
Instruments: Piano Guitar Voice Ukulele Keyboard Acoustic Guitar
For piano I prefer Faber Piano Adventures and have different books I would recommend starting with depending on the students age and experience. For guitar and ukulele I prefer using the Hal Leonard method books. I often supplement these method books with outside sources and pieces as is appropriate for the student. For singing students, I have a wide variety of books and resources depending on the musical style. I come from a classical voice background, so when students are middle school age and older (sometimes earlier) we begin learning Italian Art songs in addition to musical theater pieces and English folk songs. Instruments: Piano Guitar Cello
I use the Suzuki method for strings. I was classically trained in this method. I find that this method is an excellent way for beginners to gain basic technique and learn at their own pace. It is also great for intermediate students as the transition into this method does not take long once I have evaluated the student's skill level. The most important part of what I teach is to HAVE FUN! Read More
