My methods include a number of fundamentals that include scales, technique and learning how to get around the instrument with ease and versatility. For beginners, I like to focus on the George Vance techniques and teaching in order to build a strong foundation. At the intermediate level, I like to find out what the students find interesting and cater the lesson plans around that. I'm an enthusiastic instructor that loves working with students of all ages to further their love of music, as well as their skill and appreciation for their craft. I graduated from Southwestern Adventist University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Music, with an emphasis in orchestral percussion performance, where I had many opportunities to perform with percussion and as a member of their elite choir, the University Singers. My method is based on each student's age, skill level, enthusiasm/interest level, and their wants/needs. For beginner students, it is important to start with the basic fundamentals and techniques, but once those are mastered, there is more freedom to explore. For intermediate students, we work on filling in gaps they may have in their current understanding of music/guitar, and anything else they want to work toward. I have enjoyed playing, singing and accompanying vocally and on piano, organ and keyboard since the age of 7.  I have both Choir and Solo vocal experience as well as played piano and organ for Churches and special performances. I have trained choirs and soloist and taught singing lessons for more than 10 years.
