Performed and/or recorded almost any style of music ranging from Jazz with the Collin College big band, top combo, and University of North Texas forum ensembles, to Country with artists such as Kevin Deal and Jake Ward. Additionally, I have played bass at a number of churches around the DFW Metroplex some of which include Southlake Baptist, Creekwood United Methodist, Crossroads Bible Church, and First United Methodist McKinney. I don't use any one method book. Instead I opt to pull from a variety of sources depending on the students age, background, and skill level. In terms of repertoire, I focus almost exclusively on classical music. While I am a fan of other genres, I also firmly believe that building a solid, classically-based technical foundation is the only way to really become proficient on any instrument. We also work on long-term pieces for festivals and recitals throughout the year if they are interested in playing for those. I strongly encourage them to participate in these, helping them to feel confident and secure in these performances. In 2011, I graduated college from Southwestern Assemblies of God University, while I was there I traveled the world playing anything from jazz to rock. I studied with legendary drummer Tim Pope, the drummer for Ray Charles. After school, I started playing and teaching music professionally in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. I have had the opportunity to play with many great artists, these artists include Blues Legend Lance Lopez of Super Sonic Blues Machine, Kayla Reeves singer from Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Jim Suhler the guitarist for George Thorogood, 5 time Grammy winner Tim Alexander from Asleep at the Wheel, Grammy winning trumpet player Phil Driscoll and last but not least guitar Legend Andy Timmons from Danger Danger and Pawn Kings. My method of teaching puts emphasis on the keyboard fundamentals that develop sound piano technique. I use a systematic approach in which the student progresses from their present level, whatever it may be, beginner, intermediate, or advanced, to their next level in a reasonable time. For students at the beginning or intermediate-beginning levels, I would choose from the Faber, Albert, Leonard, or Thompson piano methods.  I always give the student after each lesson a method of practice for the music/lessons required.
