Voice Lessons in Richland Hills, TX

Instruments: Voice

My teaching experience began when I completed my degree in Music Education 10 years ago. Since that time I have been teaching private lessons to students of all ages. As a teacher, I believe it is my job to meet my students where they are in their development, and prescribe exercises, repertoire, and information that will help the student with each of their individual needs and goals. I use classical technique as a foundation for healthy singing, but absolutely love performing and teaching many other genres of music. Read More

Music has always been my passion. I try to make every lesson fun and cater the music my students learn to their taste, because I have noticed that they learn more quickly and have fun doing so when it is music they enjoy. While being classically trained in one's instrument is important, what I find to be the most important is to make sure that I am able to pass along an enthusiasm for playing music! Read More

I create custom lesson plans for each student, for unlike the trombone or the cello, everyone's voice is considerably different. I will first hear the students goals, and where they want to go, or what they want to do. Then, I will assess where they are at, and then customize lesson plans to take them from where they are to where they want to go. I will do this by giving them different songs to learn. Read More

My teaching experience dates back to the early 1990's when I taught as an Adjunct Voice Instructor at Frank Phillips College in Borger, TX. I found this to be a fulfilling and rewarding experience as I taught freshman and sophomore voice students the fundamentals of proper vocal production through the learning of appropriate repertoire. There were student voice recitals at the end of the semester. One of my college students has credited me with inspiring her to pursue a career in music ministry. Read More

I have been singing and teaching for over 30 years both professionally and for my own enjoyment.  Singing is my passion, it is what I do.  I have found that teaching someone to enjoy and express themselves through music is perhaps one of the most rewarding things I do.  For the past several  years I have had the privilege to teach within several school districts as a Private Voice Instructor. These districts include Arlington ISD, Grapevine ISD, Plano ISD and Lewisville ISD.  During my time with Grapevine ISD I worked closely with Music Faculty in support of their program which included writing curriculum for the Music History program.  I work closely with my students and their Choral Director to make the musical experience fun and rewarding.  At the end of the school year the students perform in recital for their parents and friends.  I am always very proud of my students as they demonstrate what they have learned and how much they have improved through the year. My teaching experience dates back about 20 years. Since then, I’ve taught many levels and many instruments. I’ve taught students ranging from 18 months to 81 years old. I’ve taught many styles;including jazz, pop, and rock. I’ve had students to make videos and win several competitions. My favorite genre to teach is classical. With classical, you can pull all of the other genres out of it. When you learn classical first, everything else seems to fall into place. Read More
