Instruments: Saxophone
My teaching experiences have come from my time spent playing in a variety of ensembles in the different colleges that I attended. I was often asked to lead groups in rehearsal and this was where my teaching experiences first began. It started with my colleges Big Band and then with a Saxophone Quartet. Being able to lead a group of musicians and helping them get better everyday was the most fulfilling feeling I got during my time in school and pushed me to try my hand at teaching younger students. This is where I think it is fun to be creative because we are all different. Everybody has a different method of interpretation and I feel like that is my job to figure out what works for you as an individual. For example I will simply ask you questions like what style of music are you listening to and songs you want to learn how to play. It is also my job to know the difficulty level and how to guide you in the right direction to keep things fun! Read More

My teaching style is personalized, goal-oriented, but also fun focused. I take a personalized approach, focusing on understanding each student's unique vocal goals, strengths, and areas for improvement. By setting large, medium, and small SMART goals, I ensure that progress is tangible and attainable, helping students build confidence in their vocal abilities. I also believe in making the lessons feel fun and be gratifying in the process of hitting smaller goals and Student Learning Outcomes, as the student also works towards more long term goals. I don't use any one method book. Instead I opt to pull from a variety of sources depending on the students age, background, and skill level. In terms of repertoire, I focus almost exclusively on classical music. While I am a fan of other genres, I also firmly believe that building a solid, classically-based technical foundation is the only way to really become proficient on any instrument. A student simply is not going to develop by just playing his or her favorite pop songs. Read More

I have enjoyed playing, singing and accompanying vocally and on piano, organ and keyboard since the age of 7. I have both Choir and Solo vocal experience as well as played piano and organ for Churches and special performances. I have trained choirs and soloist and taught singing lessons for more than 10 years. I also have trained praise dancers and trained, accompanied instrumentally and toured an All City Children's Choir throughout Tarrant County for many years. Read More

My teaching experience dates back to my college days, as I began teaching private lessons part time 8 years ago, and have been consistently teaching students in my home studio for the last 5 years. Encouraging regular practice on a consistent schedule is one of the key points I like to emphasize for younger students, as it tends to help the student progress and gain a passion for the instrument. I've also found that a combination of classical and modern music can go a long way in helping students enjoy the piano and motivate them to practice and continue to learn. Read More
