My first professional experience playing live was playing with Eric Clapton's drummer Jamie Oldecker at age 15 in a small club in Tulsa Oklahoma .James started playing guitar at age 12 after hearing Jimi Hendrix Electric Lady Land and never wanted to do anything else. James soon was playing Larry Carlton and The Crusaders note for note he studied jazz, R &B, funk fusion, metal ,pop, rock guitar and classical composition. From there we can understand what style they want to be playing as I would encourage having a basic understanding of all musical styles. I began teaching when I was 17 after I made friends who were younger through the mariachi summer camp. I taught music theory and the overall style of how to learn and build chords based on key signatures. Being able to show these kids so much about their instrument made me want to some day become a good tutor for someone else in need of lessons that are straight forward and to the point without having to worry about a tutor that's hard to work with.
