During my college years, I was a scholarship singer at First Presbyterian Church, and a member of the Sam Houston State University Chorale. Past experiences include singing with the UTB/TSC Master chorale, with which he performed at the Texas Music Educators Association. I have experience teaching guitar lessons and performing at the Alpha Omega Academy in Huntsville, Texas. I am a passionate music instructor. I have been singing since I was 6 years old. I started to play guitar when I was 10. I have participated in Mariachi, in latin groups, in choirs. My teaching style is very unique in that its based off improvisation and ear training with music theory lessons. Having just one of the three is a great skill, but developing an ability to read, play and improvise music is what, in my opinion, makes a great musician. I have been a self-taught, hobby guitar player for over 20 years. I am heavily influenced by Rock, and Blues guitarists, but I am also a fan of Classical Flamenco guitar. I have been teaching beginner guitar and Music Theory for a little over 1 year. I enjoy teaching beginner and intermediate guitar students of all ages. I can teach you the basics of tuning your guitar, memorization of the fretboard, proper fingering and hand positions, as well as written music theory concepts and how they apply to the guitar neck.
