I recently finished my studies to receive my Bachelor of Music in Music Therapy degree from Sam Houston State University. At SHSU I gained experience working with a variety of clientele including those diagnosed with autism, dementia, traumatic brain injury (TBI), chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and spina bifida. I also provided live percussion music with the Creative Movement Program with the dance department at Sam Houston State University. When meeting a student, I want to find their "currency". Meaning, I want to find what makes them want to work and practice. There is nothing more rewarding than working for a goal and accomplishing it. I like finding music that my student wants to learn and making a music theory lesson that compliments the instrument lesson. I would ideally like my job with my students to be temporary. What I mean by that is to fill them up with all the knowledge and skills that they will be able to pick up their instrument(s) and sight read a piece or learn a piece without my help. Read More

Born and raised in Austin, Texas, I began playing guitar when I was 8 years old. My love for music has deepened over time, and I feel it is important to share my knowledge and passion for the art with whoever is willing to learn. Every students needs and ability to learn is unique to them. I find that no one method works universally, but my experience has helped me gained a wealth of knowledge and different ways to deliver them to the student. Our first lesson will kind of act as an interview to really get to know the student.
