As a teacher my goal is not to simply teach a student how to play or sing a certain song. My goal is to teach my students how to use the discipline of music to help them to develop their character. To that end I emphasize learning music fundamentals well and being able to put them into practice playing or singing in public at every opportunity. I also believe that playing with other musicians helps students to solidify their skills so I encourage them to play in an ensemble at every opportunity. Read More

I Started with music 17 years now . I began age 10 with cello. 2 years later started the guitar. Picked up along the way electric bass, upright bass, ukulele , mandolin , banjo, basic piano and learning accordion. All middle and high school was in the orchestra. Graduated 2009, then attended Lone-star for 2 years taking music classes. I was in a band for about 3 years. We did some events, but then I decide to leave. I've had the opportunity to take guitar and voice lessons from a number of great instructors, and have learned a multitude of great methods from them. When learning the fundamentals of guitar, I find it easiest to first learn through visually learning the hand shapes and hearing the different notes and intervals. I have been teaching for over three years now. I started teaching friends and family members in my home. My key points are musical technique and consistent practice. I try to teach music as a form of language, much like Victor Wooten teaches. The most important thing is keeping things interesting for both me and the student, while still preparing them for school performances and recitals.
