J Johnson, and Butch Miles just to name a few. I went on a salsa tour throughout the west coast in 2016. My greatest strength is that I take the student at the level they are at and progress from there. Some of my worst teachers took me from their advanced level and expected me to match that. A student needs to go at their own pace, not someone else. That way they are constantly being successful. Going at someone else pace only makes you constantly fail. I started my teaching carreer in 1994, teaching doublebass and bass guitar. Two years later I began offering guitar lessons. In 1998 I offered cello lessons. My passion for teaching has grown over the years, and brought me great pleasure helping beginner students gain skills, confidence, and a sense of pride and accomplishment in learning to successfully play a musical instrument. I been able to teac advanced bass students techniques that increased their playing skills and understanding of their instrument and music in general. My greatest pleasure was helping a young, nervous, shy, and self conscious young boy, and over time, with his efforts and my guidance, was able to apply and get accepted into music college.
