I'm an energetic, passionate and motivated instructor strongly committed to the belief that everyone is musical. I teach students of all ages and levels, focusing on repertoire, technique, theory, sight-reading and improvisation.  My special "niche" is teaching young children.    My students (ages 3-6)  embark on a musical adventure with Beethoven Bear and Mozart Mouse, filled with singing, listening, music appreciation, movement and rhythm activities.  Students also participate in drum circles, play boom whackers, experience parachute play and ukulele playing. My sessions are casual and personable. As much as possible, I follow the student's preferences in regards to the pace and content of each lesson as well as song selection. I can slow down for students that need more practice or provide more lessons and practice for faster learners. Each lesson has a drawing, a finger exercise, and a strumming (rhythm) component. Depending on the student, other corollary information about the structure of music, music theory, and so on are imparted as the lessons proceed, often becoming mini-lessons in their own right.
