Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.

Depending on the age and personality, I cater each lesson to the individual. If they are younger students, I'll use Mel Bay or Hal Leonard books, but sometimes I will make a custom book that builds with their development and learning style. I believe reading sheet music is important, but understand that being able to play along with other musicians using ear training and improv skills, as well as reading chord charts, is just as necessary. I had few teaching experience in the past; all of them are beginner students. I am currently working on my own teaching curriculum and materials. I have come up my own way to approach teaching music theory to students because traditional way of music theory teaching in school is too vague for most beginner students. Each student is unique in the way they learn and progress. I come in to each new lesson trying to learn what works best for each student, as well as what each student is trying to gain from the lessons. I give all of my students a mixture of technical exercises, repertoire pieces, and creative assignments to keep things interesting and varied. We will spend about half of the lesson on technique and theory, and the other half on understanding, and appreciating different musical styles and how to improvise comfortably and confidently over them. I have a much heavier focus on songwriting, and composing than most teachers, and I encourage my students to be as creative as possible while giving them the tools to do so effectively and correctly.
