Instruments: Guitar Trombone Drums Orchestral Percussion Djembe
I have been teaching students privately for over a decade, starting with teaching trombone in high school, continuning with drumming students in college, and teaching professional-leve drums and percussion, advanced trombone, and beginner guitar students. My primary passion lies in West African music, and I really enjoy bridging cultural gaps in my teaching. At the same time, I am rooted in American jazz, western classical music, and rudimentary style drumming. Read More

My main goal and teaching is to inspire self motivation and make it fun! I like to pick songs that are fun to play and challenging at the same time depending on what level you are at that time. By doing this I think keeping the instrument out and not in the closet is a good start that way if the inspiration hits you and you want to play it is within your reach "guitar stand and wall hangers are ideal" and not in the case the put away " Out of sight out of mind" I suggest buying a music stand for your instruments and or wall hangers which seem to work very well as a display and also so the instrument is within your reach. I'm a passionate and driven young musician eager to share the knowledge and experience I have and grow with others through teaching. I am currently pursuing a Bachelor of Music Degree in Bass Trombone Performance at New England Conservatory in Boston, Massachusetts, studying under James Markey, bass trombonist of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. I have performed around the Dallas Fort Worth metroplex, Spain, France, and Massachusetts, in great halls like the Meyerson Symphony Center and Tanglewood's Seiji Ozawa Hall. Read More

My experience goes back all the way to my college days at Southwestern Assemblies of God University. At Southwestern, I studied with Tim Pope, drummer for Ray Charles. After college, I had the opportunity to teach drums at Southwestern for 2 years as a adjunct faculty member. I then went on to teach at Fort Worth Christian School for 5 years and worked with all their students including their drum line. While at Fort Worth Christian, I was able to win multiple awards including best snare line and best front ensemble at TAPPS competition. Read More

Instruments: Voice
During our lessons we will address correct breathing and posture and different vocalises that will strengthen and free up the voice, giving the student more power, more range and more freedom/agility. Singing with freedom is a different path for each singer, and I will prescribe different exercises for each area of the voice we are trying to improve. You will also be assigned songs: some classical, some musical theater and then whatever genre is your favorite. Read More
Instruments: Violin Cello Viola
For beginning students,on violin, viola and cello, I work with the Essential Elements and Suzuki books (depending on the student). They offer a lot of practical information, as well as beginning music theory for all string students. For my beginning violin and viola students, I only work with them through Essential Elements book 3. At that time, I would refer them to a teacher who's primary instrument is violin. With my cello students, all levels are welcome. Read More
