I have had more regular students since my early twenties, from young children to senior citizens. I completed a Masters Degree in Music (Saxophone Performance) with an emphasis in Jazz Studies in 2016 from the Lamont School of Music and have experience working with underprivileged students with varying income backgrounds. I approach teaching students with an individual needs based curriculum and am mindful of their ability and goals. For beginner students, I start with some fundamental basics but I always try to keep the information relatable to each individual student no matter what their skill level. I take a very individualized approach for each student and tailor the lessons just for them depending on what the student is interested in and their skill level. I like to teach by demonstrating information through songs that each student enjoys. From my experience in receiving music lessons when I was younger, I had a difficult time putting forth the time and effort for lessons that were classically run. I had a lot more fun with music when I’d learn at the pace I wanted to learn, and work on pieces I felt most interested in.
