My lesson style is one-on-one. I like to create an environment where the student can be relaxed, yet focused, in order to get the most out of our lesson time. I like to start with review of the last lesson and any homework assigned for the student to work on. If there are areas where work is still required, we will spend as much time as needed to get those issues resolved before we move on. Read More

My approach is different for each student. A curriculum will be designed around the student's needs, skill level, music reading ability, musical interests, and age level. I am capable of teaching a student as much as they are willing to learn. We will not only learn a piece of music, but will dive into what makes the piece interesting to the student and the theory of music. Each student will have an active role in their musical education and as a result, students tend to be more motivated to learn and succeed. Read More

I've been teaching on and off for about the past 10 years. I graduated from Mcnally/Smith College of Music in 2005 and have been teaching ever since. Sometimes my schedule has been more focused on performance as I have done national tours and exstensive recording but I've always been passionate about teaching. I've always enjoyed watching the "lights turn on" as someone gets a new idea or concept and the doors open for them creatively. Read More

My methods to teach beginning guitar are basic music reading techniques as they relate to the instrument. Teaching the fundamentals of music gives the student the ability to work on technique development. Once the fundamentals of technique and theory line up then I will begin to introduce songs and solos based on the students ability and interests. The purpose of working on songs and solos that the student wants to learn is to keep the student interested and practicing every day. Read More

I began teaching music at the age of 15, primarily guitar and piano lessons for beginners ages 7-14 in my hometown of Parker, CO. At 16 I began teaching my students basic music theory and intermediate instrumental instruction. I moved to Boston in 2012 to pursue an undergraduate degree in Songwriting from Berklee College of Music in Boston, still actively teaching throughout my curriculum. I have now taught over 200 students ages 4 to 64 a wide variety of music-related subjects, including: piano, guitar, bass, voice, music theory, D.A.W. and notation software, and contemporary songwriting. Nothing is more pleasant than being able to inspire my students to become passionate in what they do, and do what they love. The first thing i do when i begin the process of teaching a student is to ask him/her what he desires to achieve with what he wants to learn, from there i establish the intensity and demand in the apprenticeship. For those who want to achieve a professional level in the instrument must compromise his effort and his time in the study of his instrument. Read More
