I have been teaching private lessons for about 7 years. I have been playing guitar for 20 years, and mandolin, dobro, and pedal steel for 10+. I am passionate about tailoring lessons to tackle exactly what the student wants to learn. I have found that many teachers have a set curriculum to teach students a certain level on competency on an instrument. I transferred over to Metropolitan State University of Denver and began my Bachelors degree sequence under the wing of Alex Komodore. I graduated from Metro in May 2014 with a Bachelors Degree in Classical Guitar Performance, and the experience thus far has been amazing. Drummers will learn various styles of drumming from basic rock beats through various Latin and jazz styles. Depending on experience level I like to get people making music as soon as possible. I know that trudging through the basics can be tiring. Of course some basics are neccesary but I like to make the basics sound as musical as possible. We will cover the fundamentals but we'll do so in such a way that it won't feel like so much work. I like to use books, depending on skill level, for reference but I have a very hands on approach and feel that the best work to be done together is the stuff that can't be found in the book.
