I started teaching guitar shortly after beginning the instrument in 2005. Since then I have taught guitar, and string bass consistently as well as being a classroom music teacher for the past two years. I put a lot of focus on younger students developing good habits early and help them see the benefits of regular practice as their passion for music grows. I believe incorporation into daily life is vital to retention and I find ways to get students involved outside of lessons as much as possible. Read More

I started teaching right after I graduated from Berklee. I have worked in studios , but have been self employed for the most part. It’s very rewarding and creative that way. I have played 3,000 performances in my career, which gives me a unique perspective on teaching. I have run rock camps as well. I prepped the singers, drums, bass, keyboards, and guitar players. They had a concert for the parents at the end of the camp. Read More

I began my guitar studies at the age of 12. A contemporary of the Tarrega School, I have taught and performed regularly as both soloist and ensemblist throughout my career. In 2012, I earned my Bachelors Degree in music performance from the University of Nebraska Omaha while studying with classical guitarist Hadley Heavin. Upon graduation, I was awarded scholarship and teaching assistantship to attend the Lamont School of Music where I am currently finalizing my Masters of Music Performance. Read More

I have taught two different hour long group vocal classes twice a week, one for ages 3-6, and the other for 7-10 year olds. On average, I teach around 30 lessons a week, mostly 30/45 minute sessions, and several hour long sessions in addition to my group classes. I specialize in advanced vocal instruction and talent development. Read More

My approach to teaching is personal, flexible, and student-centered. I will start by finding out what the student knows already, and what the student wants to know. What kinds of music do they want to play, and why? (For instance: for fun; accompanying themselves singing; performing in front of people; becoming professional.) If the student can play some samples of songs they would like to learn, all the better. Along the way, some basics will surely be covered (chords, scales, basic music theory, various instrumental techniques). Read More
