For my beginning students who are children, I like to start with Alfred's Music books based on the instrument they choose. They are specific, yet easy for kids to follow along with, and encourage practicing by making each song fun. For adults, we journey into what the student is interested in or inspired by, and then I guide my instruction accordingly to keep our lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level. In High School, my music practice skills carried over to my academic studies and I was able to graduate with Honors, a 4.00, and earn 14 scholarships to attend college to become a musicteacher. I started teaching guitar lessons in my hometown when I was 16 years old and was teaching at local music stores when I was 18. After graduating from Musicians Institute, I taught in-home private lessons in Los Angeles. I consistently had a full teaching schedule and gained a lot of experience through teaching students of all ages and skill levels.
