I view music as a language and believe in the importance of being able to manipulate it to convey a message to the listener. I allow students to choose the songs they learn and couple them with technical exercises to improve dexterity and familiarity with the instrument. It's important to keep the student interested and help them truly uncover their passion for music by letting them lead me to the appropriate places they want to go.
