For people 9 and up the method i use is the traditional method from the Cuban and Spaniard school. This consists of developing the three characteristics of a musician. The first characteristic called Theory consists of the learning everything concerning music theory and the instrument. Read More

Depending on experience level I like to get people making music as soon as possible. I know that trudging through the basics can be tiring. Of course some basics are neccesary but I like to make the basics sound as musical as possible. We will cover the fundamentals but we'll do so in such a way that it won't feel like so much work. I hope to inspire students to practice outside of lessons, and play for friends and family as much as possible. I love when my students find music on their own that they want to play. I believe that part of my job as a teacher is help my students discover their passion for the guitar. Read More

I use many different methods since I am of the opinion that all methods have their strengths and their weaknesses. For children I typically use the Suzuki method and suplement with exercises and outside repertoire to compensate for the weaknesses in the Suzuki method. I also use the Royal Conservatory method and try to teach its repertoire when the student is at an advance- beginner or intermediate level. Read More
