For beginning learners, I attach great importance to the sitting position and ear training, so paying attention to intonation and awareness of sitting position when playing the cello is my primary consideration. For intermediate students who study for more than one year, I will pay more attention to left-handed skills and students' mastery of the bowing. For advanced players, I will focus more on musical interpretation and comprehensive techniques. All the left and right-hand skills will be put into the interpretation of music, this is the last step for students who playing cello. Read More

I have taught instrumental music in public schools for 5 years which has included teaching grades 5-12 in subjects such as beginning band, beginning orchestra, intermediate band, intermediate orchestra, marching band, percussion ensembles, and small group/individual instruction. I have been teaching private lessons in drums, piano, and concert band instruments for 10 years. I have been a performing member of rock bands, concert bands, orchestras, jazz bands, marching bands, choirs, and percussion ensembles, so I have a very diverse knowledge base which gives me the ability to adapt my instruction as a teacher to meet the needs of any student's goals and aspirations. I started teaching in 2008 when I started college. I started couple of young students who were very beginners which was very fun! I love how creative young kids are. I learned a lot from my students. I also taught in music academy for a long time and it was totally different experience than private students teaching. I learned a lot about how to manage/teach many students in short amount of time. Voice: In voice lessons we do not use books which allows me to fully customize lessons to the individual students needs and wants. I teach different methods of breathing, including low costal breathing and we focus on posture, sound placement, among many other fun skills. Speaking: Speaking lessons are also highly customized, as speakers could be anyone from film or stage actors, to voice over artists, to public speakers and beyond. Read More

I have taught mostly for friends in the past. I started playing in early age, but didn't start teaching until some high school friends wanted to learn a few things. I really enjoyed helping them break down a problem, I always had a very systems-approach. Recently, I had a female student that was learning pieces for her school's talent show. I helped her understand the underlying technique issues and revisited some basics concerning rhythm and fingering, and she gave me a very positive review for my style. Read More
