Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. For Intermediate students, I use Bach, Burmuller, and Sonatas. Though I would love to follow books to make sure no fundamental skills/knowledge will be missed, from time to time, I would love to keep students motivated by letting them to pick a song they want to learn (no matter their levels are) and we will be working on that song.
