My belief is that anyone can play the piano, as long as they have the right motivation and are willing to devote time to daily practice sessions. If a student wants to learn more about songwriting, using song analysis, we can identify key concepts that can be used in songwriter development. My primary student base is ages 4-16. I also have several adult students where I teach advanced vocal performance. I have taught two different hour long group vocal classes twice a week, one for ages 3-6, and the other for 7-10 year olds. I began teaching music at the age of 15, primarily guitar and piano lessons for beginners ages 7-14 in my hometown of Parker, CO. At 16 I began teaching my students basic music theory and intermediate instrumental instruction. I moved to Boston in 2012 to pursue an undergraduate degree in Songwriting from Berklee College of Music in Boston, still actively teaching throughout my curriculum. For beginning students who are children, I start with Rubank's Elementary Method book.  This will provide the student with the basic fundementals.  I will then introduce the student to a variety of solo repertoire for his or her instrument.
