My goal is to help my students discover their potential. I've heard a lot of people say that they wish they could play an instrument, and I believe that anyone is capable of learning. I hope to inspire students to practice outside of lessons, and play for friends and family as much as possible. I love when my students find music on their own that they want to play. I believe that part of my job as a teacher is help my students discover their passion for the guitar. Read More

I started teaching guitar lessons in my hometown when I was 16 years old and was teaching at local music stores when I was 18. After graduating from Musicians Institute, I taught in-home private lessons in Los Angeles. I consistently had a full teaching schedule and gained a lot of experience through teaching students of all ages and skill levels. One of my main goals is to make sure my students are having fun while learning as I believe this is key to maintaining an interest in music and motivation to practice. Read More

I am a dedicated musician who has been playing the piano since age 3. In my late teens I taught myself to play the guitar and bass guitar, and I have spent my whole life learning the ins and outs of music through theory, composition, and performance. I hold no degrees or certifications other than a degree in environmental science, but I have put more hours into independent musical study than anyone my age who has chosen to pursue a degree in music. My style of teaching is personal and caring. Whether my students develop a desire to pursue music beyond our lessons, I care about their happiness and personal success in life. I develop a relationship with my students and I really enjoy it when I hear that they used a concept I taught them in our music lessons for something beyond music. I at least hope to instill a strong understanding and enjoyment of music in each of my students which they can share with the people in their life. Read More

With 14 years of teaching in the public and charter school systems, I am very experienced in determining the learning styles of my students and finding what works best for their musical education. The most important thing is to enjoy learning and performing music. My students have found that the more they learn, the better they get, and the more fun it is to play music! Read More

No one ever regrets learning music and I believe that often times when a student gives up on music it's because they are not taught in a way that is effective for them. A one approach fits all teaching style can cause students to loose interest and not practice which in turn leads them to get frustrated, bored and ultimately causing them to give up. I teach because I love to see people get those a-ha moments, which gives them the ability, understand music in a way that they can teach themselves. Read More
