My teaching method varies depending on their age. From 4 years to 8 years i use an advance learning method, which consists of developing reading and playing based on color coding music notes. For people 9 and up the method i use is the traditional method from the Cuban and Spaniard school. This consists of developing the three characteristics of a musician. The first characteristic called Theory consists of the learning everything concerning music theory and the instrument. Read More

From my experience in receiving music lessons when I was younger, I had a difficult time putting forth the time and effort for lessons that were classically run. I had a lot more fun with music when I’d learn at the pace I wanted to learn, and work on pieces I felt most interested in. I certainly don’t want this to be a boring, or draining experience for students, but a time in which students can come to me with interests or questions regarding their goals in music, or even song ideas! I want you to enjoy the guitar more than anything. Every student progresses at there own pace. It's important to set realistic goals for each student and in getting to know a students ability, taste, and drive we can get where you want to be on the guitar. Acknowledging accomplishments fuels a students desire to progress, and makes students more eager to learn. By finding out what inspires the student, I can tailor our lessons to their wants and needs. My approach is different for each student. A curriculum will be designed around the student's needs, skill level, music reading ability, musical interests, and age level. I am capable of teaching a student as much as they are willing to learn. We will not only learn a piece of music, but will dive into what makes the piece interesting to the student and the theory of music. Each student will have an active role in their musical education and as a result, students tend to be more motivated to learn and succeed. Read More

I'm a firm believer in reading music, no matter what style of guitar you want to play. As someone who didn't grow up with music, the thought of reading music seemed like a huge hurdle. However, I discovered that it was easier than I thought and being able to read music helped me to understand larger concepts down the road. I also know that most students start playing the guitar because they want to learn their favorite songs, and I make sure to never ignore what my students want to play. Read More

In our modern (distraction-filled) world, nothing is more rewarding than guiding my students toward developing artistry and intellectualism. Therefore, treating each student as an individual is paramount. Regardless of age or experience, my primary teaching goals bear improving a students abilities of cognitive function, problem solving, confidence, self-awareness, work ethic, artistry, and creativity through music. To accomplish this, I encourage the building of proper study habits to achieve personal goals. Read More
