My teaching experience dates back to my college days, as I began teaching private lessons part time 8 years ago, and have been consistently teaching students in my school studio for the last 5 years. Encouraging regular practice on a consistent schedule is one of the key points I like to emphasize for younger students, as it tends to help the student progress and gain a passion for the instrument. I've also found that a combination of classical and modern music can go a long way in helping students enjoy the instruments and motivate them to practice and continue to learn. Read More

My favorite part about teaching is seeing my students grow as musicians. I approach each student differently as I believe each student requires a different approach. Music means something different to everyone, and I want to teach you what you want to learn. Whether you're a beginner looking to learn the basics of reading music or an experienced musician looking to take your playing to the next level, I'm eager to share my experience and knowledge in helping you reach your goals on your musical journey. As stated before, my first goal is to help the student feel comfortable in the lesson. I find that without this, a student will have a hard time succeeding. I myself am classically trained. I received my Bachelor's in Music Education from West Texas AM University in 2015 and my Masters in Percussion Performance from Texas Tech University in 2017. Throughout school, I was fortunate to have had opportunities to perform with various ensembles at the statewide and national levels. These experiences I was able to bring to hone my own skills to perform and teach at a high level. I take pride in my humble beginnings and I hope to bring others on their own journey that they can learn from and enjoy. Read More

My teaching style is very laidback yet focused. I'm still a student myself so I know that my students might not have time to practice every day, but at the same time, you've got to practice consistently to see results. I focus on trying to get those consistent results while still making sure my students have fun in the process. One of the most rewarding things about music is finally learning a song you've been trying to learn for a while or realizing how far you've come, and I know I can help my students reach that fulfilling point.
