Drumming was used as a communication tool to convey messages from the traditional chief or rulers to the ordinary cities or residents of most of the west african countries of which Ghana is an example of those countries, so it may depend on which style of music the student is interested in. I started in September of 2018 with one student who I taught throughout the semester, and seeing him grow throughout the months was satisfying unlike anything else I've experienced. I taught one student a semester due to my school commitments but still managed to teach them a lot and open their eyes to the world of music.
