Most of my responsibility was reinforcing the lessons and practicing alongside individual students who were struggling. While attending high school, I was the only guitarist for the school band and got requests for private lessons from my peers, which I gladly accepted. I start my beginning students off with learning to read music notation simply from a rudiment sheet and moving into a cd play a long book with basic drum rhythms and song structure. For intermediate to advance students, I typically start with Stick Control for the snare drummer by George Stone. For basic drum set we start with "The Rhythm Book" covering all drum set styles. I believe teaching in music in an art that requires as much dedication and preparation as performing. When I teach, I dont force a certain technique or method on students, but rather I teach what is best suited for them. On top of that, I always motivate my students with adequate goals.
