My passion for teaching has extended into my graduate studies, where I focused on piano pedagogy. Integrating the principles of moving the wrist, arm, and elbow fluidly ahead of the hand to produce even tone and clear voicing, has helped my students overcome technical challenges with greater ease. For students that are new to music I usually start with Hal Leonard's Essential Elements, this book is really good to start to learn about music and the instrument, and then Suzuki method for repertoire. Hi, my name is Caroline, and I began playing at the age of 3, formal training at age 5, studying with professional pianists all the way through college. I am classically trained, and studied classical piano as well as Jazz in college and beyond. I enjoy learning and teaching all types of music, including composition and improvisation.
