I'm still a student myself so I know that my students might not have time to practice every day, but at the same time, you've got to practice consistently to see results. I focus on trying to get those consistent results while still making sure my students have fun in the process. For beginning students between ages 3 and 6 I use Progressive Piano Method for the young beginner. Older beginners are given options based on their age, ability and goals. I have testing materials available for those who are interested. When I taught international students at Brook Mays, I learned many different techniques for young beginners. It all started when I took my first drum lesson in the 4th grade. From then on, I wanted to play whenever I could. I played in all my school bands from middle school to high school. Graduated Southern University, home of the world famous "Human Jukebox" which I was a member of for 3 years, as well as playing for my church since I was 13. Along the way I have had the honor of meeting and learning from respected musicians such as Lawrence Jackson (former director of SU Bands), Herman Jackson (Brother of Randy Jackson), Jerry Lee Lane (Marching percussion pioneer) and countless others.
