For students with limited background, I assign simplified arrangements of familiar pieces to sustain motivation. For students that are new to music I usually start with Hal Leonard's Essential Elements, this book is really good to start to learn about music and the instrument, and then Suzuki method for repertoire. I like to see where the student is at level wise and take it from there. Example : if the student has never played before, we will start with how to hold the sticks. If there at level three but haven't touched 16th note triplets and go from there. I've been playing the piano for 15 years as a church accompanist. I currently perform as a church accompanist at a church in Little Rock for 6 years. During summer 2012, I held a piano teaching internship at Rhythm 88 Music School in Little Rock, Arkansas. I performed at Carnegie Weill Hall with my friend, cellist Kyung-min Kang 2013 summer. The cellist won 3rd place in the American Protege Competition. The winners recital was held during July 2013 at Carnegie Hall in New York City. Read More

I started in September of 2018 with one student who I taught throughout the semester, and seeing him grow throughout the months was satisfying unlike anything else I've experienced. I taught one student a semester due to my school commitments but still managed to teach them a lot and open their eyes to the world of music.
